Louisville Holiday Jobs 2026: Amazon and UPS Seasonal Hiring Is Open Now

LOUISVILLE, KY — Holiday hiring is open in Louisville, and the biggest buyers of seasonal labor are the two companies that already shape this city's warehouse economy. Amazon says it is hiring more than 2,500 people across Kentucky for the holidays, and UPS, whose global air hub sits at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, is filling 100,000 seasonal jobs nationwide. New postings keep landing through December, so the window is now.

💼 Amazon's Holiday Hiring in Kentucky

Amazon announced in October that it plans to hire more than 2,500 people across Kentucky for the holiday season, part of more than 300,000 seasonal hires nationwide. The roles are a mix of seasonal, part-time and full-time work in fulfillment and delivery operations, and the company says new openings post weekly from October through December.

One honest note on the number. Local reports have described the 2,500 figure two ways, as a statewide total and as a Greater Louisville total. We are printing the version the reports agree on: more than 2,500 across Kentucky, with no official Louisville-only breakdown.

Separately, Amazon is expanding same-day delivery in Louisville, and Spectrum News reported in October that the expansion brings more than 200 full- and part-time positions, with full-time staff averaging nearly $24 an hour.

💵 What Amazon Says It Pays and Offers

  • Seasonal pay: about $20 an hour on average.
  • Full-time operations: a $20 minimum, averaging near $24 an hour, which Amazon values at more than $32 an hour with benefits.
  • Health care: starting January 1, 2027, seasonal workers on 30 or more hours a week become eligible for coverage from day one. Shifts that end before then do not get that benefit.
  • Career Choice: prepaid tuition of up to $5,250 a year, plus a 401(k) match and paid parental leave for eligible employees.

Amazon says seasonal roles can lead to permanent jobs, but none comes with a guarantee. Plan for January either way.

📦 UPS and the Worldport Effect

UPS said on October 7 that it is bringing on more than 100,000 seasonal employees across hundreds of locations to sort, move and deliver packages. Louisville is the company's air hub city, so peak season is felt here more than almost anywhere. UPS has not published a Louisville headcount for 2026, so we won't guess one. Search and apply on the UPS jobs site, where UPS says many applicants can get an offer in minutes.

Worldport shifts run around the clock, and overnight sort work is the classic Louisville seasonal job. If you need daytime hours, filter for them before you apply rather than after you get an offer.
